On this page you will find our standard design specifications. These specifications not only document what you can expect to
receive in a Seattle Custom Shoji screen, but this page might also help you in determining your screen design.
No matter what screen size you order, stain or grid pattern, we will use the same basic production materials to achieve your design. Those
standard production materials will consistently deliver the dimensions shown in the following figures and text . . .

Your screens will be built to the following quality tolerances:
Height and Width Dimensions: +0, -1/16th of an inch
Screen Thickness: +.45mm, -0.0
Gaps in borders and gridwork can not exceed 1/16th of an inch.
Frame bonding is guaranteed for normal use, but is not guaranteed against dropping or torsional forces.
The shoji paper is a very durable material, however we can not quantify a tolerance and therefore can not list a guarantee for it
When purchasing a poly-urethane coating on your screen, you are purchasing two light coats of coating on the frame. The gridwork will not be
coated unless you specifically request it to be coated.
Stain appearance is guaranteed by process only. We will apply a pre-coat of wood preparation and up to two coats of stain according
to the stain directions. Here is a sample of two screens stained with Sedona Red. A customer can expect similar quality in their screens.
